Two more tragic deaths this week as a result of forklift accidents.
One involved a 59 year old man who was on foot when a forklift backed into him.
The second victim was a 17 year old who was run over by a forklift he fell from.
Investigations are ongoing as to the causes, but they serve as more sad reminders that forklifts can be fatal.
Train operators, train pedestrians and don’t mess with this equipment.
Why do we need recertification training to drive a forklift? Humans forget and become complacent. That’s why refresher training for forklift operators is a must. We are now booking our Spring schedule for on-site training from Nanaimo to Campbell River.
Plan ahead for winter forklift operation – take into account that rain, snow and wind affect traction, load stability and visibility. Take care!
Sorry, we are not offering forklift training right now due to the pandemic. But we still want you all to stay safe while operating your forklift. So this reminder is aimed at operators and pedestrians to look out for each other.
