Who can drive the forklifts at your workplace?

Improper assignment of forklifts and operators is another one of the common factors in forklift accidents according to the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health & Safety. What does this mean for employers or supervisors? It means you would be well advised to keep a list of authorized operators – i.e. site and equipment specific trained operators so that the wrong person does not use the wrong machine for the job. All forklifts are not created equal so don’t put the operator of your powered pallet trucks on the reach trucks.
