Scissor lift accidents

Just like forklift operators, anybody using an aerial lift also needs training.

Why?  Here are some examples of recent accidents involving this type of equipment.

  • A man in Australia was killed after he was crushed by a scissor lift.
  • A man in Tennessee was thrown 60 feet from a scissor lift while washing windows.
  • A young worker in Australia died as a result of injuries from electrocution – he accidentally crashed the scissor lift into a pylon with high voltage power lines.

These recent accidents reflect the most common fatalities on scissor lifts which are caused by falls, crushing and contact with power lines.
