A US military veteran who was seriously injured by a forklift was recently awarded $15.2 million by a county Jury.
The individual was working at an exhibition when he was hit by a 58,000 lb forklift driven by an untrained operator. The operator was employed by the company that set up the show, a company which had been cited twice before by OSHA for employing uncertified forklift operators.
Bottom line the company did not ensure the operator was trained and the operator did not ensure clear path of travel through use of spotters.
The injured individual, who had survived two tours in Iraq, went though unbelievable pain and suffering and now walks with a cane.
