We often get asked “is there a regulation for that” about some specific forklift related task. In this much regulated society it is too easy these days to get caught up in the details and forget the basics.
Regulations are generally reactive, not proactive. If there is a regulation there is a reason behind it. Does that mean if there is no reg it is OK to do something dumb? Of course not.
Oh and actually there is a reg for that – whatever it may be that you are thinking is not quite safe, or not quite right, consider the General Duty Clause in BC’s OHS which states:
2.2 General duty
Despite the absence of a specific requirement, all work must be carried out without undue risk of injury or occupational disease to any person.
