A contractor died recently in Indiana while working indoors at a factory on a scissor lift. He was 35′ up in the air installing a safety feature on a crane when the crane moved and struck the scissor lift knocking it over. The operator fell and landed on the back of his head causing a fatal injury.
The accident is under investigation and it is not known yet what caused the crane to move.
Scissor lifts are nearly as common as ladders nowadays but remember that you must be trained to operate them safely.
