Every week we get “forklift alerts”, every week we hear about tragic, avoidable accidents. Here is another one.
“August, 28, 2012, New Jersey – a 52-year-old forklift operator was killed instantly when the machine overturned and landed on him as he worked behind a department store in northern New Jersey. Investigators say the forks were raised on the machine, making it “top heavy” while the operator attempted to turn it. They also say the angle of the turn and the forklift’s speed contributed to the accident.”
In every class we repeat the same basic rules – keep it slow, keep it low, forklifts tip in seconds.
